SO Advice Limited assists Global Soros Charity with large London move

Open Society Foundations is a global charity founded by the business magnate and philanthropist George Soros. It is a large global organisation, with over 30 offices on 5 continents around the World.

In the spring of 2016 Open Society Foundations in London approached Martin Halling, Director of SO Advice, as they wished to accommodate a large incoming Programme Team from the United States which was being established in central London.

Martin’s detailed brief from OSF was to find them cost effective, long term, but flexible office space close to their prestigious headquarters in the Millbank area of central London.

After having researched the market thoroughly within the SW1 area, and after having investigated and benchmarked all nearby and available providers, Martin uncovered suitable space very close to OSF’s headquarters. Not only was the dedicated space entirely suitable for OSF’s purposes, but it was 33% cheaper than comparable serviced office providers, and it was available on flexible terms.

The deal was more complicated than a regular serviced office solution, as it was longer term and on more of a sub-lease basis, but Martin was able to give regular updates, guidance and best advice to all parties involved, in order to ensure that they all achieved their required outcomes.

OSF had very specific IT, Telephony, and Infrastructure needs, which required being able to seamlessly link their new offices back to their Headquarters at Millbank, and Martin liaised with the office operator, the client, and their respective IT, Telephony, and Cabling specialists, to ensure that a totally bespoke and fit for purpose solution was provided.
